Airlines Logistics - Airlines Maharaja flies to Shanghai Our Bureau
Mumbai , Dec 10 AIR India is offering an introductory return fare of Rs 18,000 on its Mumbai-Shanghai flight, which will commence from Thursday. The twice-weekly flights departing from Mumbai on Thursdays and Saturdays will pick up passengers from Delhi on the way. The nine-hour flight to Shanghai will include an hour-long stopover at Bangkok. The airline will deploy Airbus A310 with a capacity of 201 passengers on the route. According to the spokesperson, the flight, which departs Mumbai at 6:10 a.m., will leave Delhi at 9 a.m. It will arrive in Bangkok at 2:15 p.m. local time and depart at 3:15 p.m. to arrive in Shanghai at 8 p.m. local time. The spokesperson for Air India said the flights to Shanghai have already been booked for two months. The book-loads on the flight were at a 107 per cent. He added that the airline hoped to raise the frequency of services to four times a week shortly. A further enhancement would depend on the outcome of talks between the two countries, scheduled for next March. The introductory fare of Rs 18,000 return is half of the full fare of Rs 36,000, he said. According to Mr Yuan Nansheng, the Chinese Consul General in the city, around 2.10 lakh visitors travelled to China from India.
