Canara Bank cuts home loan rates

CANARA Bank has announced that it has reduced its interest rate on home loans by 25 basis points to 7.5 per cent on floating rate loan up to five years.

For loans above five years, the rates have been slashed from 8.75 per cent to 8.25 per cent for a loan amount up to Rs 10 lakh, irrespective of tenure. Above five years for a loan exceeding Rs 10 lakh, the rate has been reduced from nine per cent to 8.5 per cent, said a bank release.

Fixed rates applicable for the same tenures as above have been decided at a percentage of eight, nine and 9.25 from the earlier rates of 8.25, 9.5 and 9.75 percentage. The rates are effective from December 1.
