Mumbai , Nov. 26 AVENTIS Pharma Ltd has launched `Wishbone,' a comprehensive healthcare management programme for women diagnosed with osteoporosis. The programme will be initially available across the six metros of Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Kolkata and Delhi. The programme has features like diagnosis, treatment and overall patient care, including on-call counsellors, physiotherapists and nutritionist. At the core of the programme is the Aventis drug, Actonel, proven to achieve both rapid vertebral fracture reduction and sustained vertebral and hip fracture reduction, according to Dr Sandeep Bhattacharya, director of the company. Osteoporosis patients can enrol with Wishbone for a registration fee of Rs 1,000, followed by a monthly payment of Rs 2,000. Included in these costs are services like adjuvant therapy, marker tests, insurance cover for fractures, educational material and peer group support programme.
