Cinema Call to set up mini theatres for kids' films Our Bureau
Hyderabad , Nov. 18 VETERAN film producer and Lok Sabha Member, Mr D. Rama Naidu, has called for setting up of mini theatres in major towns to screen children's films. Addressing a press conference on the sidelines of the 13th International Children's Film Festival here on Tuesday, he said producers of children's films faced numerous problems in getting the films see the light of the day. "Though being made in small numbers, the films are not being received well by distributors and exhibitors'', he regretted.
Mr Naidu, whose film Harivillu is competing in the children's world section at the fete, said that an amount of Rs 75 lakh had been spent on the film. Mr Naidu announced that he would be producing Hamaari Beti in Hindi soon. The film will be directed by Mr A.K. Bir. Mr B. Narsinga Rao, who directed Harivillu, said the children's films made in India were not completely realistic. He made this observation when asked to compare the films here with those made abroad.
