RailTel plans Net service on moving train

RAILTEL Corporation of India Ltd plans to sign an agreement with a Canadian firm to enable Internet services on a moving train, according to Mr R.C. Sharma, Managing Director, RailTel.

While declining to give details about the firm, Mr Sharma said that RailTel has just completed trials of the `Wireless Fidelity' technology to provide Internet on a moving train. The agreement is likely to be finalised by the year-end. The Internet facility will be available on one of the Shatabdi expresses.
