Software KPIT to tap mid-tier US cos Vishwanath Kulkarni
Bangalore , Oct. 15 POST-ACQUISITION of Houston-based PANEX Consulting, KPIT Cummins Infosystems Ltd is planning to aggressively tap the mid-tier US companies, especially in manufacturing verticals for offering ERP implementation services. "We see a major potential in the mid-tier US companies with revenues ranging between $1 billion and $5 billion, as these firms are now opening up to the concept of outsourcing," said Mr Kishor Patil, Managing Director, KPIT Cummins. The company expects to add between three and four clients every year in the mid-tier segment. The recent acquisition of PANEX adds SAP consulting skills to KPIT Cummins, apart from bringing in marketing expertise and a sizeable client base including big companies such as HP, Hercules, Accenture and SAP America among others. Incidentally, both KPIT Cummins and PANEX had jointly bid and managed to get projects with HP over the last few months. KPIT Cummins expects its engagements with HP to grow significantly over the next few quarters. At present, Cummins is its largest customer accounting for close to 40 per cent of its revenues. By leveraging PANEX expertise, KPIT Cummins plans to expand relationship with its existing clients by offering SAP services. Till recently, the company's implementation services were largely restricted to Oracle applications. "We also plan to offer outsourcing services to the existing major clients of PANEX as this represents a major growth opportunity for us," Mr Patil said, adding that the company planned to move more work offshore.
