Rukmini Priyadarshini

Bangalore , Oct. 15

CAP Gemini Ernst & Young is all set to start operations in Bangalore with 1,000 people, as part of its expansion plans in India. The global system integrator, plans to add 2,000 people in India in a year."About a fifth of these people will be for our BPO operations while the rest will be doing IT services out of India," Ms Aruna Jayanthi, V-P and Head-Outsourcing, told Business Line.

There will be some relocation of people from its centres across the world and a large number of local hires, Ms Jayanthi said. "We have operations in several low-cost locations - in Poland and China, for instance - but customers define where they want to outsource from - and they want to do it from India, Ms Jayanthi said, adding that CGE&Y hoped to do more out of India.
