Outsourcing South tops as BPO destination Our Bureau
BANGALORE: Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai in the South, Mumbai and Pune in the West and the NCR in the North are the best destinations for new BPO operations, scoring over other cities on skills available, costs, real-estate suitability, infrastructure and Government incentives, Mr Pankaj Dhandharia, Partner, Ernst&Young, has said. Bangalore scores higher since the accents of its agents are suited to cater to the West's customer base, he said. These Tier 1 cities were best to start operations while expansions could happen in the `emerging' Tier II cities Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Coimbatore, Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi, he said. The Tier II cities have the advantage of lower cost structure and lower attrition rates, according to him.
