Our Bureau

HYDERABAD: The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu, has urged the Prime Minister, Mr A.B. Vajpayee, to entrust the multi-crore fake stamp paper scam case to a sitting Judge of the Supreme Court as the issue has national ramifications.

In a letter to the Prime Minister, Mr Naidu said circulation of fake stamp paper was a major issue affecting a number of States. He wanted the probe to cover all issues pertaining to printing and circulation of such fake paper.

Mr Naidu wrote the letter following his announcement in the State Legislative Assembly that the Union Government would be requested to entrust the case to a sitting Judge of the apex court.
