Airlines Marketing - Promotions & Offers Air India launches special fares, schemes Our Bureau
Mumbai , Sept. 25 AIR INDIA has introduced special fares from India to London, Paris, Frankfurt and destinations in the US New York, Newark and Chicago to attract passengers during the October-December period. Fares on the economy class during this period will be 15-25 per cent lower than the fares applicable for travel during the peak travel period of July-September, 2003, when airlines record high occupancy factors on their flights. Promotional schemes have also been introduced for passengers travelling by first and executive class on these sectors. While passengers bound for Newark can now avail of a free hotel night in Paris, those travelling to London, Paris, Frankfurt and Newark are being provided limousine pick-up service at the time of arrival and departure. This is, in addition to the Companion Free Scheme that First and Executive Class passengers are eligible to on full IATA fares. Also, passengers travelling on full IATA fares to the UK, Europe and the US, but not taking a companion, can now get a free ticket to Dubai in lieu of the companion. Air-India, which now operates direct services to the US without involving a change of aircraft at a city in Europe, recently upgraded its first and executive class on Boeing 747-400 aircraft with the installation of more comfortable seats. Our New Delhi Bureau adds: Similarly, passenger travelling from Chennai on British Airways (BA) in first class to the UK, Europe, the US, Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean can avail of a 50 per cent discount on all International Air Transport Association (IATA) published fares. Passengers from Kolkata and Chennai choosing to fly BA in business class can look forward to a 30 per cent discount to all these destinations.
