Events `Long-term pact with vendors vital' Our Bureau
Chennai , Sept. 19 CONTROL your vendors. Make sure you have a long-term relationship with them, Mr Bill Tosh, Vice-President, Technologies and Securities, OfficeTiger, has advised the participants at Connect 2003, the conference on information technology being organised here by the Confederation of Indian Industry and the Tamil Nadu Government. The US-based firm is in the back-office sector with a large presence in Chennai. It was extremely difficult to control vendors even as there were multiple products, systems and applications available in the market, Mr Tosh. Negotiations with a vendor on smaller issues were easy, like, for instance, buying a personal computer. However, it was quite complex in large deals such as system integration with hardware, software and operating system.
