Insurance staff token strike

KOCHI: The insurance employees will observe a two-hour token strike on August 28 under the banner of All India Insurance Employees Association to protest against the delay in convening talks on wage revision.

Public sector insurance companies in India had been able to put up a commendable performance despite the insurance sector facing a crisis internationally. The LIC was able to corner 97 per cent of the business despite stiff competition from the 12 private insurance companies, a release said.
