Kale keen to widen global reach

Anna Peter

Mumbai , Aug 12

KALE Consultants, airline and banking solutions provider, has added two more clients to a customer list that includes KL Airport Services, Malaysia Airlines, Asiana Airlines and Dahaco.

According to Ms Neela Bhattacherjee, Senior Vice-President, Strategy and Marketing Airlines Division, Kale is also actively seeking to widen its global reach and is scouting around for new customers in Malaysia through its joint venture with the $250-million Malaysian firm, Syarikat Pesaka Antah. Kale has a 60 per cent stake in Antah Kale Sdn Bhd, while the Antah Group has 40 per cent.

Ms Bhattacherjee said that Kale had been offering its managed process services to Malaysia Airlines over the past year and was looking for sales agents for its UK operations.

She said that Kale had also been selected by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) as one of the two suppliers for neutral fare proration services to airlines — APEX{trade} from Kale and CIPS from ATPCO.

IATA hopes to create a process which will involve `first and final' settlement of interline bills between airlines that will eliminate duplication in proration and the high level of rejection of interline bills by airlines. Kale is also targeting the cargo segment with offerings such as AMBER, a cargo revenue accounting system that minimises the cost associated with undercharging, overpaying and foreign exchange exposure.
