Promotions & Offers Industry & Economy - Petroleum HPCL launches `weight campaign' Our Bureau
Bangalore , July 31 HP Gas, the LPG business arm of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation, has come out with a scheme, which provides portable weighing scales to delivery boys of LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) to reassure consumers about the correct weight of the LPG refill cylinder. About 15,000 delivery boys across the country will carry portable electronic and mechanical weighing scales, which provide the customers the option to cross-check the weight of the gas at their doorstep. Launching the service in Bangalore on Thursday, Mr S. Babuganesan, Deputy General Manager (LPG-South Zone), said that this measure would remove the apprehensions nursed by customers about the exact weight of the HP LPG cylinder. About 31 dealers in the city would be provided with the portable weighing scales to be carried by the delivery boys distributing LPG refill cylinders to the customers. Weight campaign is one of the new initiatives undertaken by HPCL as part of its efforts to "create a purposeful relationship" with its consumers. It also launched a loyalty programme under the name `HP Home Perks' which will entitle the LPG customers to buy a wide range of household goods at discounts at the HP Bazaar and accumulate loyalty points. These points could be redeemable against products, Mr Babuganesan said, adding that a customer could call the HP helpline 1716 and become a member of the HP Home Perks. The helpline number could be used for booking LPG refill also, he said.
