Nirmala Nagar scheme from Aug

BANGALORE: The Chief Minister, Mr S. M. Krishna is having 31 urban areas in the State covered under the Nirmala Nagar scheme to be launched from August.

Aimed at improving infrastructure and sanitation in urban areas with a population of more than 1 lakh, the scheme also looks to improve the situation in slums, ensure appropriate documentation of property and scientific collection of property taxes, proper accounting of Government grants to civic bodies, etc.

The Bangalore Development Authority has opened one loop of the Hebbal flyover to the public. This lets vehicles coming from Yelahanka to connect to the Outer Ring Road to KR Puram. With a 900-m carriageway and 7-m width, the loop is one of four, including a grade-level bridge. The entire flyover is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
