Rubber prices rule static

Our Bureau

Kottayam , July 18

RUBBER prices ruled flat even as the prices of essential commodities sky-rocketed as the transporters' strike entered the fourth day on Friday. Buyers were absent from the market despite arrivals being thin.

There were scattered enquiries from local small units on ungraded rubber. But the grade remained static in the absence of recorded transactions.

Meanwhile, the international market also remained unchanged at Rs 46.07 for RSS 3 at Bangkok on Friday.

The futures market was calm on Friday, with August delivery quoting at Rs 44.35 and the September delivery at Rs 44.34 a kg as against Rs 44.50 and Rs 44.54, respectively.

The physical market rates on Friday were unchanged from the previous day: RSS 4 Rs 44; RSS 5 Rs 42.50; ungraded rubber Rs 40.50; ISNR 20 Rs 42.25; latex Rs 34.50.
