Satyam solutions for Universitas 21G

SATYAM Computer Services Ltd announced it has implemented host of technology solutions, including the student administration system (SAS) and a portal for the Singapore-based Universitas 21 Global (U21G), a consortium of universities offering online education to students all over the world.

These solutions, developed on the PeopleSoft platform, would enable U21G to automate the entire process from enrolments to examinations, graduation as also career counselling.

The Satyam team is also developing an e-learning portal powered by Broadvision that is expected to have thousands of users during peak time.

The Vice-President of U21G, Mr P.S. Srinivasan, and other senior members of the Virtual University project, said: "This is part of the alliances' effort to create a strong technology backbone to support various e-learning initiatives.

"We plan to build more features into the system."

The U21G has been established as a joint venture project between a consortium of 16 universities located across the globe.

It is co-funded by the consortium partners with the Thomson Corporation.

Together they have deployed initial investment of $ 25 million each.

This will be ramped up as per requirements.
