Telecommunications Idea offers international roaming facility for prepaid subscribers Our Bureau
Hyderabad , July 15 IDEA Cellular Ltd, the private cellular service provider in Andhra Pradesh, has announced the launch of international roaming for its prepaid subscribers. With this facility, Idea Chitchat users can avail themselves of international roaming facilities in 28 countries covering 32 networks. With the international roaming feature, Idea Chitchat subscribers can now receive calls and use SMS while travelling abroad. Under its roaming product, Idea Cellular already offers two-way roaming facility across the country where Chitchat users can make and receive calls and also send and receive SMS. In a press release, Mr S.K. Subramanian, Chief Operating Officer, Idea Cellular, Andhra Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh circle, said, "By offering international roaming we have taken Idea pre-paid customers within a call's reach of their families and business associates while travelling abroad." While incoming calls are charged at Rs 50 a minute on a 60-second billing pulse, incoming SMS is free. Recharging can be done from a landline by making an ISD call to 00 91 9848102222 using Idea Chitchat-AP recharge vouchers. All existing Idea Chit-chat subscribers and new subscribers can enjoy this benefit from Tuesday. Hutch launches new services: Hutch on Tuesday launched two new services for its subscribers in Andhra Pradesh - "Missed Call Alert" (MCA) and download of ringtones. In the event of the subscriber phone being switched off, not reachable, with MCA service he or she will be informed about the details of the calls missed during this period. Customers using this facility will be notified through an SMS alert (with the numbers from where they got calls, count and time of last call), thus making them aware of the calls they missed. MCA is available to Hutch post-paid subscribers for Rs 30 per month. The prepaid customers will also be able to enjoy the service for a daily rental of Re 1. Alongside this service, subscribers can download their favourite ringtones through `Voice Response Service'. They need to call `12333', follow simple instructions and their favourite ringtone will be sent to their Hutch phone.
