BSNL to beef up landline services

Our Bureau

NEW DELHI, June 29

BSNL has decided to get its act together and beef up its landline services across the country. To start with, the company has decided to undertake a comprehensive appraisal of its quality of services and has even invited bids from research organisations and agencies to be submitted by end July.

According to industry sources, this follows the large-scale surrender of telephone connections, which had peaked to 3.3 million over the past two years. The survey across the country will help it understand the reason for the surrender of the phones, and implement strategies to counter this trend, they noted.
