Foreign Trade Indo-Israel chamber plans task forces to boost ties Our Bureau
HYDERABAD, April 7 THE Indo-Israel Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IICCI) proposes to set up task forces in the sectors of biotechnology, hi-tech ventures, agro-tech, water harvesting, information technology (IT) and telecom security to bring mutual collaborations and exchange of technology and products. With Israel becoming an important player in world trade and establishing expertise in a range of technology areas, especially in security-related and agriculture, there was a good scope for joint ventures and collaborations with India, said Mr Ken Udai Sagar, newly-elected President of the IICCI. These task forces to be constituted in co-ordination with the various Government organisations were expected to give a push to increasing partnerships. The India Israel trade figures touched the $1-billion mark last year, with focus on diamond polishing, security and a few areas of agriculture, he told presspersons here. The chamber planned to bring a delegation of Israeli companies to India, especially to Hyderabad during June this year for exploring possibilities of collaboration in the post-harvest, drip irrigation, IT and telecom sectors, Mr Ken Udai Sagar said.
