Thermax bags IOC order

Our Bureau

PUNE, Feb. 22

THERMAX Babcock & Wilcox Ltd (TBW), the captive power and co-generation boiler company, has bagged the order from Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) to the tune of Rs 20 crore to install two high-end boilers at its Guwahati refinery.

According to an official release from the company, the two 50 TPH, 39 kg/cm, 450 degree C oil & natural gas fired bi-drum, bottom supported boilers would be installed in August this year.

The release said that the de-aerator, feedwater pumps and oil pumps were designed to cater to the new as well as the existing boilers. The new boilers when commissioned would help IOC to use the existing boilers as a standby steam source for its power plant, which is critical to its operation. The boiler is designed to fire low sulphur heavy oil, light oil, naphtha and natural gas through a TBW make oil/gas burner.
