Tourism Nepal woos Indian tourists Our Bureau

NEW DELHI, Feb. 19 THE Nepal Tourism Board today unveiled a series of initiatives and packages to woo Indian tourists to Nepal. The Board has chalked out a five-pronged strategy for the Indian market, which includes promotion of Nepal as a year-round destination and seeking corporate partnerships with Indian companies to promote the Himalayan kingdom. Besides, the Board plans to focus on new sub-destinations apart from the traditional cities like Kathmandu. Meanwhile, in a statement the Board has said that Indian Airlines has extended the Nepal package, which offers accommodation along with air tickets at one consolidated price, till March this year. The package ranges from Rs 7,300 for a three-night package from Kolkata to Rs 31,785 for a passenger starting his journey in Kochi. Further, Royal Nepal Airlines Corporation (RNAC) has tied up with the Board to launch the `fly and win' scratch scheme. The scheme, which is valid from March 1 to March 31, is targeted at passengers flying to Nepal from India who could win several prizes including free round trips on every flight from Bangalore, Mumbai and Delhi. The other prizes include packages of four nights including accommodation and sight seeing and gifts from the Nepal Tourism Board.
