Our Bureau

MUMBAI, Jan. 27

THE tariff war happening in the telecom industry is not healthy for the telecom industry, said Mr Ratan Tata, Non-Executive Chairman, Tata group, on the sidelines of a press conference here today.

Mr Tata suggested that quality of service and reliability were also important. He was referring to the constant rate cut resorted to by operators to garner more and more customers. He urged the employees of Videsh Sanchar Nigam Ltd, now a Tata company, to be prepared to face the challenges of competition.
