New Products & Services Hutchison launches GPRS services Our Bureau
Rahul Dravid, with Mr Asim Ghosh, Managing Director, Hutchison Max India, at the launch of a wide range of a GPRS services and video replays of Cricket World Cup on mobile phones, in Mumbai on Monday.
MUMBAI: The Hutchison group on Monday launched GPRS services across its cellular operations in the country, starting with a Cricket World Cup video clip service. The Hutchinson Essar group's cellular operations include the circles of Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. Rahul Dravid formally launched the service here. Called HutchWorld, the service brings cricket video replays. The group has exclusive rights to the contents of ICC World Cup Cricket 2003 for mobile telephony. The service will be available only to those Hutch subscribers who possess a GPRS handset. It comes at a basic cost of Rs 249 per month; however, the introductory offer of Rs 99 is available till March 31, 2003. Ten-second video clips of the matches "of the best moments'' will be available as the matches progress. Hutch had last week launched HutchAlive, an SMS-broadcast service.
