FAPCCI pact with Singapore chamber

HYDERABAD: The President of the Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FAPCCI), Mr Omprakash Tibrewala, who led a 20-member business delegation to Singapore for the fifth World Telugu Federation conference, has signed a MoU with the Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in that country to promote bilateral trade, HRD and investments.

The MoU, among other things, is on free exchange of information on economic activity, exchange of missions of private sector, setting up of joint working groups on various issues and assistance in organising international trade exhibitions.

Mr Tibrewala, who took part in a seminar on "Trade and investment opportunities in Andhra Pradesh, said that to promote exports from the State, FAPCCI was planning to set up a centre for international trade facilitation and training and believed in updating its members on the latest technological developments.

He said that according to the World Bank, the State was ahead of others in reforms in the country. Plan expenditure in it as a percentage of GDP increased from 4.9 per cent in 1991 to 5.9 per cent in 1999.
