Dumping probe on potassium carbonate

NEW DELHI, Dec. 26

AN anti-dumping probe has been initiated by the Designated Authority in the Commerce Ministry on all imports of potassium carbonate from the European Union (EU), China, South Korea and Taiwan.

Sources said that Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals Ltd had filed the petition seeking anti-dumping probe on potassium carbonate imports from these countries.

Potassium carbonate finds application in TV picture tubes, GLS lamps and ophthalmic glass, fertiliser industry, rubber chemicals, pesticide industry, drugs and pharmaceuticals and also dyes and potassium-based chemicals.
