Birla 3M has a new name

BANGALOE, Dec. 26

BIRLA 3M Ltd has undergone a name change and will now be known as 3M India Ltd. This is in line with 3M's global naming approach for its companies outside the US.

The Birla Group will however, continue to retain its share in the company and Mr Yashovardhan Birla will remain as Chairman of the Board. 3M India Ltd will continue its relationship with the Birla group as its business associate.

Mr Lee M. Kennedy, Managing Director, 3M India Ltd, said, "The relevance of Birla 3M's philosophy and ethos will remain with 3M India Ltd though the company has undergone a change in its name."

3M holds 76 per cent share in 3M India Ltd, the public 19 per cent and the

Birla group holds balance the 5 per cent.
