PM's remarks on SSIs hailed

Our Bureau

MADURAI: The Madurai District Tiny And Small Scale Industries Association (Maditssia) has welcomed the remarks of the Prime Minister acknowledging the contribution of the SSI sector to growth of the economy at the Global SME's meet held at New Delhi recently.

In a statement here, the President of Maditssia, Mr K. Ramachandran, has said that it has been rightly pointed out that international financing institutions never cared about the SSI sector. However, it would have been more appropriate if only the Prime Minister had issued strict warning to the financial institutions to cater to the needs of SSI instead of making a general appeal.
