New software for maintaining land records

Our Bureau

HYDERABAD, Dec. 22

THE National Informatics Centre (NIC), here has developed a new software for systematising land records. It will help in quick response to queries and provide necessary details on the land records for landowners in the State.

The software developed for maintaining land records would also enable disposal of requests for mutation or sub-division of land records. These patta extracts can be printed in citizen interface counters at the Mandal Revenue Offices (MROs) in the entire State.

In addition, the software package offers a provision for enquiry and obtaining patta extract through the Internet via public information kiosks, which the State Government proposes to set up at the Village Panchayat Offices.

Incidentally, the State Government has been slowly decentralising various powers to the village panchayat offices to ensure speedy and efficient development in rural areas.
