Prices fall at ICTA auction

Our Bureau

BANGALORE: Prices at the weekly Indian Coffee Traders' Association auction on Thursday dropped by Rs 2-3 on all varieties. The year-end dullness continues as exporters bought very little and local traders covered just immediate requirements.

Internationally, the focus is now on the 2003-04 crop estimates. New York settled at higher levels because of fund buying. London also saw prices go up with a lack of origin and fund selling.

Prices were as follows: Arabica parchment PB sold for an average of Rs 65 (Rs 67.72 last week); AA Rs 62.56 (Rs 66.76); A Rs 61.24 (Rs 71.60); B Rs 51.88 (Rs 50.42); C Rs 40.28 (Rs 39.56); BBB Rs 30.46 (Rs 29.94).

Arabica cherry PB Rs 32.60 (Rs 36.60); AB Rs 42.32; C Rs 27; BBB Rs 22.62.

Robusta parchment PB Rs 33.58; AB rs 33; C Rs 28.54; BBB Rs 22.62.

Robusta cherry PB Rs 34.64; BBB : Rs 29.
