More vendor exchanges on the anvil
Our Bureau
HYDERABAD, Dec. 19
BUOYED by the success of sub-contracting exchanges, the Government is working on a project to establish 30 more exchanges along with a data store in the next two years as they have proved to be ideal platform for exchange of ideas and in aiding vendor development in the small-scale industries sector.
The Industrial Advisor, Small-Scale Industry, Government of India, Mr P.K. Goyal, said that so far seven sub-contracting exchanges have been established in the country with the UNIDO support and 52 with the Government of India encouragement and yet another 35 under the Small Industries Services Institute.
Along with the establishment of these sub-contracting exchanges, efforts are also on to take part in various international expositions through representative bodies so that small-scale industries, which have a significant presence with their range of products, can market their products globally.
