Naidu's nod for GIS centre

HYDERABAD: The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu, has agreed to support a centre of excellence in Geo Information Technology.

A proposal for such a centre was made to him by a delegation of Indian and Russian GIS companies recently.

According to Mr GS Kumar, Editor of GIS India, Mr Naidu had enquired from the Russian President of GIS Association about e-governance in that country.

The delegation explained the utility of GIS and satellite imagery and collaborations between the two countries.
