Bharat Ratna for Palkhivala

A multifaceted man of immense intellect, Nani A. Palkhivala is no more. In the last five decades, his was the voice that attracted the masses towards issues of public importance. A gifted orator, author and scholar, he set the agenda of liberalisation through the `Forum for Free Enterprise' a long time ago. His annual speeches on the Budget were as popular as the actual Budget speech itself. For him the Constitution was dear and, hence, he was against unnecessary amendments to it. His eminence should be acknowledged by awarding him the Bharat Ratna.
