Announcements EIL bags contract for IOC's Panipat refinery expansion Our Bureau
NEW DELHI, Dec. 10 ENGINEERS India Ltd (EIL) has secured the project contract from Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) for expansion of the Panipat refinery in Haryana. The project involves doubling of the unit's refining capacity from six million tonnes per annum to 12 million tonnes per annum. The grass-root refinery at Panipat was also executed by the public sector engineering major, according to an EIL press release here. According to the terms of the contract, EIL will be providing consultancy services for project management, residual process design, detailed engineering, procurement, inspection and expediting, tendering, construction, management and supervision, as also assistance in commissioning of the expansion project. The units and facilities to be executed include the crude/vacuum unit, straight-run LPG unit, delayed coker unit, LPG treater unit, sulphur block, coke handling system, and a separate dedicated flare for sour gases. BHEL bags Sterlite order Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has bagged an order from the Sterlite group for supplying a steam generator for augmenting the generating capacity of Balco's captive power plant at Korba in Chhattisgarh. The captive power plant currently has four units of 67.5 MW each and the installation of the steam generator, according to a BHEL press release here, will ensure uninterrupted power supply, the most critical input for quality and quantity of aluminium production. The order is to be executed within a tight schedule of 17 months.
