Handicrafts week

HYDERABAD: Workshops for artisans will be conducted in selected districts in country during the "All India Handicrafts Week" being organised by the Union Ministry of Textiles from Sunday.

The main focus of the workshops will be on training, marketing, raw material availability, credit facility, designing and other development aspects of the handicrafts sector, according to Mr I. H.P. Rao, Assistant Director, Handicrafts Marketing and Service Extension Centre here.

Mr Rao told newspersons on Saturday that over 250 artisans from Andhra Pradesh would take part in the two workshops being organised in the State. There were over 2-lakh artisans in the State producing handicrafts worth around Rs 70 crore per annum.
