HCL Insys unveils Toshiba tablet PC

NEW DELHI: HCL Infosystems Ltd has launched the Toshiba Portege 3500 Series Tablet PC in the country. Priced at Rs 2 lakh, the Toshiba Tablet PC is powered by Intel P III 1.33 GHz processor.

The new product will be sold through HCL Frontline, the distribution arm of HCL Infosystems, the company said in a statement here.

HCL hopes to sell 4,000-5,000 units of the Tablet PC in 2003, according to Mr Rajendra Kumar, Vice-President of the company.

Tablet PC, an advanced notebook computer which lets users write on the screen using an electronic pen, has been developed by various hardware vendors such as Toshiba and HP in association with software giant Microsoft.
