People R.K. Swamy's new COO Our Bureau
CHENNAI: Sunil Gupta, erstwhile Executive Vice-President and General Manager, HTA, has joined R.K. Swamy BBDO as the Chief Operating Officer. Mr Gupta, who had spent over two decades in HTA, quit last December and reportedly planned to start his own outfit. It was under his stewardship (as General Manager, HTA Delhi) that the agency produced some memorable and successful campaigns such as Pepsi's `Nothing official about it' and `Yeh Dil Maange More'. Mr Gupta joins R K Swamy at a time when it has acquired considerable new businesses. The agency is among the top ten in India, and has a capitalised billings of Rs 320 crore (in 2001). Its list of clients includes Raymond, Mercedes Benz, Hawkins, ICI, Sony, LIC, IOC, Henkel, Sara Lee, Tata Teleservices.
