NEW DELHI, Nov. 28

PEPSICO India announced promotional plans for the cricket World Cup 2003 on Thursday.

Mr Rajeev Bakshi, Chairman, PepsiCo India Holdings Pvt Ltd, announced that Pepsi would initiate a series of advertising campaigns and consumer promotions for the World Cup. "In addition to the eight Indian cricketers, we have signed up four international cricket super stars. All this is to leverage our exclusive rights with the ICC for the World Cup," Mr Bakshi said.

The four international cricketers who have been signed on by PepsiCo are Shane Warne, Jonty Rhodes, Carl Hooper and Nasser Hussain.

The soft drinks major is already running its `cup fever' and `Men in Blue' ad campaigns.

Other advertising and promotional activity by the company is being rolled out subsequently.
