Co-operatives NCDC to start direct financing Our Bureau
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: National Co-operative Development Corporation (NCDC) will start direct financing, according to an official spokesman. With the NCDC Amendment Bill having been passed in Parliament, NCDC will become the apex promotional and development funding institution for the co-operative sector. This was stated by the Union Agriculture Minister, Mr Ajit Singh, while presiding over the 55th general council meeting of NCDC. An `NCDC Award for Co-operative Excellence' has been instituted, according to Mr P.K. Mishra, Director, NCDC. The biennial award for one primary level cooperative from each State will carry a cash prize of Rs 50,000.
