Health Info-Tech - Events Workshop on info systems for healthcare Our Bureau
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, Nov. 27 THE Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management-Kerala (IIITM-K) and the Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology (SCTIMST), Thiruvananthapuram, are jointly organising a workshop on `Information systems and knowledge management services for healthcare' at the Achutha Menon Centre, SCTIMST, on December 7-8. According to the course co-ordinators, Dr K. Srivathsan of IIITM-K and Dr S.K. Jawahar of SCTIMST, about 100 delegates are expected to take part in the workshop. They include doctors, healthcare administrators, medical and paramedical students, super specialists in different areas, medical faculty and IT personnel in healthcare-related industries and information systems. The workshop will aim to give an overview of specialised areas such as application of information systems and services in healthcare, information systems and medical references over the Internet, a clinician's perspective of IT in healthcare, telemedicine services, medical records and hospital information systems. The proceedings will seek to provide the participants with a fair grounding in modern organisational aspects and effective use of existing and emerging information systems and services related to different aspects of healthcare, the co-ordinators added.
