BANGALORE, Nov. 26

THE Bangalore International Airport project, on which some token and preliminary construction work will begin on November 29, is now expected to reach financial closure only by March 31, 2003.

The enabling amendment to the Airports Authority Act is pending and is unlikely to come up during the current session as promised.

The Ministry of Civil Aviation has finalised the requirements. "But there is no problem in the company, Bangalore International Airport Ltd (BIAL), deciding to go ahead," Mr Anurag Goel, Joint Secretary in the Ministry who was in town on Tuesday, said.
