Govt, NAAC sign pact

BANGALORE: Karnataka has signed a memorandum of understanding with National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) to effect total quality management in colleges.

NACC and the Commissionarate of Collegiate Education will strive to bring in close coordination to pursue excellence in higher education. The Education Department and NAAC have already decided on an action plan, which is based on a four-stage process for assessment and accreditation of all the affiliated colleges in the State. As per the MoU, NAAC and the Education Department will organise programmes for professional development of teachers, non-teaching staff, as well as for institutional development.
