Coffee Day gets more funds

BANGALORE: Amalgamated Bean Coffee Trading Company Ltd announced that it had closed a commitment of up to $15 million from AIG Asia Opportunity Fund. The additional funds are expected to fuel the company's growth in coffee and coffee beverage retailing chain, Café Coffee Day.

"The market opportunity is tremendous and we are confident of accelerating the pace of our growth," said Mr V.G. Siddhartha, Founder and Chairman of ABCTCL, in a press release.

The company has over 275 Coffee Day outlets selling roast and ground coffee, 60 Café Coffee Day parlours and 1,500 coffee Day takeaway vending machines across the country. ABCTCL is also one of the top three exporters of green coffee and speciality coffee from India.
