Pent-up ire

Two women survivors of the Bhopal gas leak (broom in hand) lead a team of activists demonstrating in Chennai on Wednesday. The survivors, who have launched a `Jhadoo maro Dow ko' campaign, want to sweep away Dow facilities from India. Dow Chemicals Company got involved with the Bhopal gas leak controversy since the multinational corporation bought over the facilities of Union Carbide Corporation in February 2001. With this change of ownership at the global level, the survivors from Bhopal want Dow to take over the liabilities caused by the gas leak at the Union Carbide plant in Bhopal in December 1984.
