CII working on `green' directory

Our Bureau

CHENNAI, Nov. 6

THE Green Business Centre of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII-GBC) is launching an exercise to produce a directory of companies manufacturing green (environment-friendly) products or providing green services.

According to a CII press release, the directory is expected to have over a thousand company listings under four sections: energy efficiency, renewable energy, green buildings, and environment and recycling. The objective is to tap the tremendous potential available to catalyse investments in these areas.

CII is expecting to release the directory in February 2003 in book and CD formats.

Nominations for enlisting in the directory have to be made before the end of this month.
