Canara Bank equity capital reduced

MUMBAI, Nov. 3

CANARA Bank has returned 48 per cent of its equity capital to the Government of India, aggregating Rs 277.87 crore.

The bank's equity capital now stands reduced to Rs 300 crore from Rs 577.87 crore, said a spokesperson for the bank.

Canara Bank's proposed IPO of 11 crore equity shares of Rs 10 each at a premium of Rs 25 per share, for an amount of Rs 385 crore, slated to open on November 18 will take its equity capital to Rs 410 crore.
