Zydus Cadila gets Brazilian FDA approval

Our Bureau

MUMBAI, Nov. 1

ZYDUS Cadila's manufacturing plant at Moraiya has received approvals from the Brazilian FDA agency, Agencia Nacional de Vigilancia Sanitaria (ANVISA).

The certification qualifies Zydus Cadila to enter the Brazilian market with its oral tablets, capsules and soft gelatin capsules. It plans to foray into the $5-billion Brazilian market in 2003 in generics and specialty products. The plant was inspected by the ANVISA authorities in August 2002. ANVISA has strict guidelines about plant inspection, some even stricter than that of the US FDA.
