Record volumes in NSE derivatives

MUMBAI, Oct 31

THE National Stock Exchange today recorded all-time high volumes in the derivatives segment at Rs 2,894.07 crore. The previous high volumes were Rs 2,156.14 crore recorded on February 28, 2002. Volumes in the derivatives market on NSE were around 91 per cent of the total turnover at Rs 3,178.63 crore in the cash market.

In a statement, the NSE said, S&P CNX Nifty futures recorded a volume of Rs 296 crore. S&P CNX Nifty options recorded a volume of Rs 40.26 crore and options on individual securities recorded a volume of Rs 728.80 crore, while futures on individual securities recorded a volume of Rs 1829 crore.
