Promotions & Offers Corporate - Outlook Samsung expects highest-ever colour TV sales this month Richa Mishra
Mr R. Zutshi, Vice-President, (Sales), Samsung India.
NEW DELHI, Oct. 29 SAMSUNG India may well have hit upon the right formula with its consumer campaign Phir Se Phod Ke Dekho to clock its highest ever colour television (CTV) sales in a month. The company expects to sell around 1.2 to 1.4 lakh units, the highest ever number of CTVs, this month. The consumer campaign, coupled with its customised CTV range launched in India this year, seems to have struck the right note with the consumer. "Samsung expects sales worth Rs 380 crore across India in the October-November period from its consumer electronics and home appliances products,'' Mr R Zutshi, Vice-President (Sales), Samsung India, said. "The success of the campaign and the customer acceptance of our CTVs launched in India this year has facilitated the company crossing its highest ever monthly CTV sales as on October 27,'' he added. Mr Zutshi also said that the company has already crossed the previous highest figure of 90,000 CTVs (in November 2001) in the first 27 days of October. "We expect to sell around 2.25 lakh CTVs in the October-November period based on Diwali sales in the marketplace,'' Mr Zutshi said. The company is expecting to sell one lakh flat TVs this year and register a 70 per cent growth in CTV sales in the last quarter. "The consumer electronics sales in the North have picked up since Dussehra and are expected to peak around Diwali. In the East, we expect to double our growth in CTV sales in October compared to September 2002,'' he said. In the period of October-November the company is expecting to register a growth of 38 per cent in terms of its total sales compared with October-November 2001, Mr Zutshi added.
