SC reserves KIOCL verdict for Tuesday

Our Bureau

NEW DELHI, Oct. 25

THE Supreme Court has said that it will reserve its verdict on the public interest litigation against Kudremukh Iron Ore Company Ltd (KIOCL) for next Tuesday.

The case had been adjourned twice earlier during the week on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The court on Friday, after listening to the company's counsel, also asked the company to submit written commitment that in future it will not undertake mining activities during the rainy season.

KIOCL is facing the possibility of premature closure following the PIL initiated by non-Governmental organisations and environment protection groups on grounds of pollution.
